Funeral Potatoes

Funeral potatoes are very popular in the Mormon church. They call it funeral potatoes because it is are typically serve after a funeral. Nowadays it’s very common to have funeral potatoes at gatherings, events at church, or anytime year round.

These funeral potatoes are amazing! It is very flavorful and the cornflakes add a crunch to it. This cheesy potatoes are great as a side dish. I love bacon so I add it in mine. It will be a hit at your dinner table.

Ingredients:

  • 1 – 30 oz bag of Frozen Hash Brown, thawed
  • 1/2 cup Onions, diced
  • 2 Cloves of Garlic, minced
  • 6 tbsp Butter, melted
  • 1 can of Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup
  • 1 cup Sour cream
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 1/2 cup Cornflakes
  • 1/2 cup Panko Bread Crumbs
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 pack Bacon, cooked and sliced (Optional)

 

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 Degrees. In a medium skillet, melt 2 tbsp of butter and saute the onions until translucent. Add in the minced garlic until fragrant. Remove from the skillet and set aside. Cook the bacon and cut it into bites pieces.
  2. In a large bowl mixed together the hash brown, onions, garlic, bacon, condensed cream of chicken soup, sour cream, parmesan cheese, 1 cup cheddar cheese, salt, and black peppers.
  3. Spread the mixture into a 9×13 baking pan. Add the remaining cheese on top.
  4. Melt the 4 tbsp of butter and mix the cornflakes with the Panko bread crumbs in a bowl. Spread the cornflakes and bread crumbs on top of the pan evenly.
  5. Bake for 60 minutes or until cooked.

I love making banana bread. This is the best banana bread recipe ever! It is very moist and super delicious. Banana bread taste best when it is chilled in the fridge. It is super easy to make.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract

  • 1 1/2 cup All Purpose Flour
  • Optional: Chocolate chips, fruits, nuts



Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 Degrees.

In a stand mixer, cream the butter and sugar.

  1. In a small bowl stir the yeast in the water and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
  2. In a big bowl add flour, honey, oil, and salt. Stir.
  3. Stir in the yeast mixture until it starts to form a dough. Then knead the dough until it is soft and elastic.
  4. Cover the dough with plastic wrap for an hour.
  5. After an hour, your dough should double in size.
  6. Spray a pan with pam and preheat the oven to 350.
  7. Split the dough into 16 balls.
  8. Roll out the dough and put the fillings on: sauce, cheese, pepperoni, and olives.
  9. Put the balls in the pan after rolling each one of them.
  10. In a small bowl, melt the butter and stir in garlic powder.
  11. Brush it on top of the balls and bake it for 30 minutes.

Pizza bombs are easy and simple to make. Super cheesy and delicious! My daughter loves pizza and these pizza bombs are the perfects size for her. She loves anything that looks like a ball and even helps me make them.

I make my own pizza dough. I’ve used this recipe for awhile and it turns out perfect every time. I’ll be showing you how to make the dough. You can use a bread maker to make the dough too. Put it on dough mode and add all the ingredients in. When it’s in a dough form, put it in a bowl and let it sit for an hour.

Dough:
  • 1 Pack Dry Active Yeast
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 3 1/4 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable or Canola Oil
  • 1 tsp salt

Yeast

In a small bowl stir the yeast in the water and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.

Stir in the yeast mixture until it starts to form a dough. Then knead the dough until it is soft and elastic.

Cover the dough with plastic wrap for an hour.

After an hour, your dough should double in size like the photo above.

Fillings:
  • 1 can Pizza Sauce
  • Pepperoni
  • Cheese
  • Olives

You can add whatever you like in there. My daughter loves olives for some reason so I added those in. Haha

Spray a pan with pam and preheat the oven to 350.

Split the dough into 16 balls. I only made 15 since there wasn’t room for the other ball.

Roll out the dough and put the fillings on: sauce, cheese, pepperoni, and olives.

Put the balls in the pan after rolling each one of them.

Topping:
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder

In a small bowl, melt the butter and stir in garlic powder.

  2. Take 8-10 slices of bread and cut the crust off. This step is optional.
  3. Using two bread, spread Nutella on both of the bread. Then add some sliced bananas on top of one. Put the other bread on top.
  4. In a pan, melt some butter.
  5. Dip the bread into the cinnamon mixture and put it on the pan. Fry each side until cook.
  6. Sprinkle some powder sugar or syrup on top. Or both.

Some days I don’t know what to cook so I look around in my kitchen to see what I have. Seems like I have stuff to make french toast. Nutella and banana just happened to be on the counter so I decided to add those to my french toast. Banana Nutella french toast is so delicious! It is full of chocolaty Nutella and sweet bananas.

Ingredients:
  • 8-10 slices of bread
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk or half and half
  • 2-3 tbsp butter
  • Powder sugar or syrup for topping

  4. Add the chicken to the skillet and until it is cook. Add salt to taste.

  6. Pour the 2 cans of cream of chicken on top evenly. Put it in the oven to bake for 20 minutes.
  7. In a pot, heat 1 1/2 cup of water with 1/4 tbsp butter. When it boils, stir in the stuffing mix. Then remove from the heat.
  8. After it is done baking, add the stuffing mix on top and enjoy!
